About Jacenta

Jacenta is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 10 years of clinical and leadership experience within both the public and private sectors. She has worked with a wide range of client groups, including neurodiverse clients.

Jacenta is passionate about helping both neurodiverse and neurotypical people within various workplaces to understand their personal and collective strengths and weaknesses to enable them to reach their goals.

About 12% of Australians identify as neurodivergent (e.g., ADHD, autistic, and specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia), though the true number is estimated to possibly be as high as 20%. Moreover, neurodivergent people are often misunderstood, which can lead to an increased likelihood of mental health issues, communication difficulties, and social and workplace isolation. Bridging this gap via the provision of workplace education together with one-on-one support to neurodivergent individuals, their managers, and work colleagues can help to create inclusive environments where all staff members uniquities and differences are celebrated, while simultaneously reducing the mental health burden on workplaces. Additional organizational specific benefits are likely to also include the facilitation of a creative, open-minded, and broad-thinking workforce that is attractive to both ‘neurodiverse’ and ‘neurotypical’ people.

In recent years Jacenta has worked within a highly regarded specialist interdisciplinary practice that aims to support and enhance the mental health and wellbeing of adolescents and adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.  She is highly regarded for both her diagnostic assessment and intervention experience and skills. In partnership with client organizations, Jacenta can work with individuals and teams to support via the provision of education, to develop effective communication skills, and to create comfortable work environments. Together this will facilitate skill building and the development of practices to enhance staff satisfaction.

Jacenta is also uniquely able to facilitate other neuropsychology related workplace education and intervention needs that may be required.

When she is not at work, Jacenta enjoys spending time with her family including her three children, playing hockey, and spending time outdoors.
